Hearth & Hands
Bodywork rooted in tradition, attuned to the body in front of me.

Rosa Tate practices bodywork the way her teachers taught her — slowly, with full attention, and informed by traditions older than the licensure board. She trained originally in Swedish and deep tissue in 2009, then spent six months in Hawaii in 2014 studying Lomi Lomi with a kumu in the lineage of Aunty Margaret Machado. Since 2017, she's run a small one-room practice in downtown Ojai, where she sees a handful of clients a day and prefers it that way. Sessions are long (seventy-five to a hundred and five minutes) and combine slow flowing strokes, focused tissue work where needed, and the kind of presence that's harder to find than it should be. Rosa is CAMTC certified (#85214) and a member of the ABMP. She works with locals, the Ojai retreat community, and travelers passing through. Booking is available here; series of three sessions save 10%.
